Job summary

Linde Canada Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Finance in Mississauga, ON to act as a strategic partner to the President and leadership team.

You will shape long-term strategy, oversee budgeting and forecasting, and ensure alignment of financial results with business objectives. The role requires deep finance leadership in a multinational context, strong analytical skills, and experience with finance systems such as JDE and Hyperion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business; MBA would be a strong asset.
• 15+ years of progressive finance experience with significant leadership responsibility.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or process-driven businesses.
• Proven track record leading finance organizations and driving strategic change.
• Experience with financial systems and enterprise reporting platforms (JDE/Hyperion) is essential.

• In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to the President and senior leadership team, helping shape and execute the long-term business strategy for Linde Canada while providing insight into key opportunities, risks, and performance drivers
• You will lead the development of annual operating plans, forecasts, capital budgets, business reviews, and financial targets, ensuring strong alignment between financial results and business objectives
• A key focus will be monitoring business performance, analyzing trends, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations to support informed decision-making
• You will provide strategic financial guidance on major business initiatives, including capital investments, growth opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and other high-impact projects
• The role involves leading financial evaluations, business case development, and scenario analysis to support decisions related to expansion, diversification, mergers and acquisitions, and operational improvements
• You will oversee financial reporting, accounting practices, internal controls, compliance, and governance, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements
• Strategic leadership of the procurement function is an important responsibility, helping drive value, efficiency, and alignment across the organization
• You will partner closely with global Tax and Treasury teams while maintaining oversight of working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit, collections, inventory performance, and cash flow
• The role also provides executive oversight for the Canadian IT function, supporting digitization, data integration, and technology-enabled business improvements across the organization
• As a senior leader, you will build and develop a high-performing Finance team, while providing guidance to business leaders on financial policies, controls, reporting requirements, performance expectations, and overall business results

• The role is ideal for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. An MBA, Master’s degree in Finance, or professional accounting designation would be considered a strong asset
• You will bring 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant leadership responsibility within a large, complex, or multinational organization
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or process-driven businesses is important, with the ability to connect financial performance to operational outcomes
• You will have a proven track record of leading finance organizations, driving strategic change, influencing business decisions, and supporting growth across multiple functions and stakeholder groups
• Experience with financial systems, planning tools, and enterprise reporting platforms is essential, while exposure to systems such as JDE, Hyperion, or similar solutions is considered an asset
• The role requires an understanding of technology-enabled business improvement, including experience supporting digitization, data integration, reporting automation, and process optimization initiatives
• You will be comfortable operating within a matrixed environment, building strong relationships, influencing senior leaders, and collaborating effectively across functions, regions, and stakeholder groups
• Strong communication, executive presence, and business partnering skills are critical, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights and actionable recommendations
• Success in the role comes from balancing strategic thinking with operational execution, while effectively managing multiple priorities, leading through change, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
• You will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, including integrity, sound judgment, change leadership, customer and operational focus, and the ability to build high-performing teams while driving accountability and business performance
