Job description

Vice President, Business Development (Eastern Canada)

As trusted Executive & Professional Search partners, Talent Edge brings deep expertise in talent acquisition and advisory across industries. We leverage cutting-edge research and market mapping tools to deliver exceptional candidate matches for our clients.

Market One is Canada’s leading capital markets marketing agency, helping public companies, ETFs, and exchanges elevate their visibility with investors. They help businesses maintain a strong online presence and build loyal investor communities by harnessing the power of data to monitor online activity, conversations, trending topics, and behaviors.

Through strategic partnerships with leading media outlets, Market One creates and distributes targeted content covering natural resources, technology, real estate, and small-cap/venture companies. Their comprehensive marketing programs include editorial placements, video production, mass media distribution, email campaigns, online advertising, social media, SEO/SEM, and newsletter coverage – seamlessly complementing established investor relations strategies and driving measurable market visibility.

With offices in Vancouver and a growing presence in Toronto, Market One is expanding its reach and seeking to build a strong foothold in Eastern Canada. This role represents an opportunity to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team at the forefront of investor marketing.

About this opportunity:

As the VP, Business Development for Eastern Canada, you will lead Market One’s business development strategy in Eastern Canada, driving new client acquisition across public companies, ETFs, and exchanges. Reporting directly to the COO, you will be responsible for building Market One’s presence in an untapped market and developing a strong portfolio of long-term client relationships.

This is a strategic growth role where you will design tailored marketing solutions, deepen partnerships with executives of public companies, and contribute to the expansion of Market One’s national footprint. You will also collaborate closely with the marketing, digital, and production teams to ensure seamless execution of client engagements.

The role is based in Toronto, ON, with a remote work model and approximately 15% travel to client sites, investor conferences, and industry events.

About the individual:

The ideal candidate is a strategic business developer with deep knowledge of capital markets and a strong background in consultative sales. You excel at building trust with senior executives and thrive in environments where persistence, creativity, and relationship-building drive results. You bring both the entrepreneurial mindset of a builder and the discipline of a sales leader, with the vision to scale a new practice area while also being hands-on in closing deals.

Key attributes and skills include:

  • University degree required; additional financial services or capital markets qualifications considered an asset
  • Proven expertise in business development, partnership building, and relationship management with brokerages, and IR firms
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets (TSX, TSX-V, CSE, CBOE, NYSE, NASDAQ, OTC, investor relations ecosystem)
  • Ability to design and pitch integrated marketing solutions (content, video, digital, newsletters, social, broadcast)
  • Confidence in engaging with public company executives (CEOs, CFOs, IROs) and investors
  • Skilled in prospecting, pipeline management, and CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent)
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and storytelling ability to position value propositions
  • Analytical and ROI-driven, with the ability to connect marketing campaigns to measurable business outcomes
  • Collaborative approach, working with internal teams across marketing, video production, and account management

This role offers significant growth potential, including the opportunity to build out Market One’s sales division in Eastern Canada and evolve into a senior leadership role within the company.

Market One believes in rewarding performance and creating an environment that supports professional growth. This role comes with:

  • Base salary + competitive commission structure (OTE in the range of CAD $150,000-250,000)
  • Extended health coverage
  • The opportunity to build and lead Market One’s Eastern Canada practice in a high-growth environment
  • Direct exposure to C-Suite leadership and career development into a national leadership role
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial culture within a leading capital markets marketing agency

Talent Edge and Market One are equal opportunity employers and believe in equity, fairness, and transparency. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all clients, partners and candidates.
