Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Market Development Executive based in Canada.

Drive revenue growth and expand market presence by developing strategic relationships with dealers, customers, and industry influencers across an assigned territory. In this role, you will identify new business opportunities, strengthen existing customer partnerships, and increase product specifications across architecture, design, real estate, and project management communities. You will work collaboratively with sales teams and local dealers to deliver tailored solutions and unlock growth in markets with more limited specialized sales support. By combining consultative selling, market intelligence, and strategic account development, you will help strengthen competitive positioning and achieve commercial objectives. This full-time, remote opportunity is suited to a proactive sales professional who thrives on building relationships and delivering measurable results. Candidates must reside in Montreal and be available to travel to Ottawa or New Brunswick approximately once per month.

Accountabilities
  • Drive revenue and execute sales activities across the assigned territory in alignment with established sales processes, corporate resources, and commercial objectives.

  • Develop business through local dealers, supporting existing customers while identifying and pursuing new accounts and opportunities in smaller or underserved markets.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with architects, designers, real estate professionals, project managers, customers, and other industry influencers to increase product specifications and generate demand.

  • Collaborate with sales colleagues to identify opportunities requiring specialized expertise and coordinate the appropriate support to maximize commercial potential.

  • Monitor market conditions, emerging product innovations, competitor offerings, pricing, and sales activity to identify opportunities and anticipate market changes.

  • Communicate relevant market intelligence and territory developments to regional sales leadership to inform forecasting, resource allocation, and future sales strategies.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Salesforce CRM records to support reliable monthly sales forecasts by account, product line, and expected sales volume.

  • Manage territory planning, prospect qualification, lead generation, account penetration, negotiations, and contract closing to achieve sales targets.

  • Represent the organization professionally and ethically while building long-term customer and dealer relationships and consistently delivering a high standard of service.

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

  • At least 3 years of successful sales experience in contract sales or capital goods, ideally including direct sales experience within a dealer environment.

  • Advanced sales capabilities, including prospect qualification, lead generation, new business development, strategic and consultative selling, account penetration, negotiation, and contract closing.

  • Strong understanding of dealer-based sales environments, territory management, and sales planning.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and adapt to changing market conditions.

  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and active listening skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and communicate effectively across organizational levels.

  • A proactive, innovative, and self-motivated approach, supported by sound judgment, professional confidence, ethical conduct, and a results-oriented mindset.

  • Demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships with customers and partners while collaborating effectively with cross-functional sales teams.

  • Commitment to continuous learning, consistently high performance standards, and a strong focus on achieving business outcomes.

  • Ability to learn and communicate product and service differentiators, understand competitive positioning, and represent the organization's offering effectively.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required, including monthly trips to Ottawa or New Brunswick.

  • Location requirement: Must live in Montreal, Canada, and be able to work remotely while meeting the territory's travel requirements.
