Job summary

Tuscany Veterinary Hospital is seeking a customer service-focused Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist to join our Calgary team. This full-time role supports the veterinary staff, greets clients, books appointments, answers calls, and assists with invoices and daily reception duties to keep the hospital running smoothly.

You will contribute to a welcoming environment, manage emails, assist with treatments when required, and learn more about veterinary services as you grow with our team.

Responsibilities

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for patients and pet parents
  • Assisting veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments when required
  • Answering multiline phone system and booking appointments
  • Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future bookings
  • Responding to and managing email correspondence
  • Admitting and discharging pet patients, including grooming clients
  • Invoicing and billing; creating estimates and processing payments
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Learn about pet nutrition and wellness and help clients find the right diet for their pet
  • General housekeeping duties and maintaining reception area cleanliness
  • Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services and office procedures

Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist

Location: Calgary, AB

Tuscany Veterinary Hospital is currently recruiting for a customer service-focused Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist to join our team. This full-time opportunity includes a range of responsibilities which directly contribute to the efficient and effective daily operation of the hospital. Your primary responsibility is to ensure our clients and their pets feel welcomed, expertly cared for and appreciated!

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parents
  • Assisting veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments when required
  • Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
  • Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
  • Respond and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages
  • Admitting and discharging pet patients, including Grooming clients.
  • Invoicing/billing; creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation and processing payments
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Comfortable learning all about pet nutrition and wellness, and helping clients find the right diet for their pet.
  • Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas and common areas
  • Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
