Job summary

Sunset Strip Veterinary Clinic in Canada is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our caring team. This hands-on role supports Veterinarians and RVTs and helps keep a busy clinic running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic is an asset.
  • Comfortable handling cats and dogs of varying sizes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Veterinarians and RVTs with patient care and procedures.
  • Safely restrain animals when required.
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
  • Disinfect and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment.
  • Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
  • Monitor patients and communicate observations to the veterinary team.
  • Prepare and organize supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate patient information and data entry.
  • Assist with laboratory tasks within scope of role.
  • Help maintain inventory and restock clinical areas.
  • Support day-to-day clinic operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized hospital environment.
  • Provide compassionate and professional care to every patient.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is an asset
  • Comfortable handling cats and dogs of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable using computers and veterinary practice management systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a veterinary team
