Job summary

Sunset Strip Veterinary Clinic is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join a busy team. You will support veterinarians and RVTs, handle patients, prepare rooms, and help keep the clinic running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is an asset.
  • Comfortable handling cats and dogs of varying sizes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with computers and practice management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Veterinarians and RVTs with patient care, treatments, and procedures.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals when required.
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment.
  • Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
  • Monitor patients and communicate observations to the veterinary team.
  • Prepare and organize supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate patient information and data entry.
  • Assist with laboratory samples and other clinical tasks.
  • Help maintain inventory and restock clinical areas.
  • Support the veterinary team with day-to-day clinic operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment.
  • Provide compassionate and professional care to every patient.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is an asset

Pay: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: both part-time and full-time options are available
