Job summary

Active Start Childcare in Calgary, AB, is seeking a Van Driver for our Out of School Care program at the Seton location. The role requires a Class 4 driver’s license and prior experience driving groups of children.

Candidates should have or be willing to obtain Alberta Child Care Certification (Level 1–3), strong English communication, and a professional, adaptable approach. A clean driving record and criminal record check are required.

Qualifications

• Class 4 driver’s license required to operate the van.
• Experience in childcare/daycare is an asset.
• Level 1/2/3 Alberta Child Care Certification (already obtained or willing to enroll).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Professional, adaptable, and fluent in English.
• Knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Driving groups of children to and from school throughout the day.
• Supervising during pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Actively engaging with and supervising school age children during field trips and at the centre.
• Cultivating positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Adhering to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start's policies and procedures to ensure quality care.
