Job summary

Active Start Child Care is seeking a Lead Educator for our Calgary South East Seton location. The ideal candidate is fluent in English, dependable, adaptable, and possesses strong leadership and classroom management skills.

Alberta Child Care Certification levels 2 or 3, along with a current criminal record check and first aid, are required. You will lead engaging programming, supervise children, and maintain safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Prior childcare/daycare experience, preferably Kindergarten/OSC.
• Level 2 or 3 Alberta Child Care Certification.
• Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
• First Aid Certification.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement engaging programming for children.
• Maintain high cleanliness and safety standards.
• Lead and support children in integrated learning and recreation.
• Supervise and engage with children and monitor well-being.
• Communicate with parents via monthly newsletters and daily updates.
• Build positive relationships with families and colleagues.
• Participate in professional development.
• Accompany children on the bus to and from school.
• Adhere to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start policies.
