Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Canada in Longueuil, QC seeks a seasoned Value Stream Manager to lead supplier performance, development, and cost management. You will partner with Quality and Engineering to drive supplier improvements and ensure on‑time delivery for critical components.

The role requires a senior background in supply chain, strong leadership, and English communication with international teams. On-site with a Monday–Friday schedule, based in Longueuil.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar supplier-management role.
  • Experience managing direct and indirect resources to achieve objectives.
  • Strong English in a French-speaking work environment; ability to read/communicate with international teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee contract execution and corrective actions for supplier sites.
  • Develop partnerships with suppliers to reduce material costs with cross‑functional teams.
  • Lead supplier relationship management strategy for assigned portfolio.
  • Manage supplier capacity to meet delivery requirements and corrective actions.
  • Monitor issues and ensure timely corrective actions with suppliers.
  • Lead a team of Account Specialists and Account Managers to meet promise dates.
  • Analyze value‑stream spending to identify margin expansion and value creation.
  • Identify and drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Value Stream Manager is responsible for leading, overseeing, and managing supplier performance (i.e., cost, quality, and delivery) for assigned suppliers, as well as ensuring the on‑time delivery of the commodities under their responsibility. The incumbent oversees and manages supplier development activities at supplier sites. They work closely with the Strategic Sourcing team to identify and select suppliers, as well as strategic partnerships and major initiatives ("big plays"). They also coordinate with the Supplier Quality team to manage and resolve production non‑conformities.

The Value Stream Manager will also support the implementation of team processes, including standard work, KPIs, and methodologies.

The position is based at our Longueuil location, from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to‑day look like?
  • Oversee and manage contract execution (including corrective actions for non-compliant performance) for the supplier sites under your responsibility;
  • Develop strong partnerships with assigned suppliers and take proactive measures, in collaboration with other P&WC teams (e.g., Quality, Engineering), to manage and reduce the cost of purchased materials;
  • Execute the supplier relationship management strategy for your assigned supplier portfolio and oversee the implementation of supplier relationship management activities;
  • Manage supplier capacity to meet delivery requirements, including the execution of necessary corrective action;
  • Follow up directly with suppliers when issues escalates to your level of responsibility to close performance gaps and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented;
  • Lead a team of Account Specialists and Account Managers, ensuring supplier commitment dates ("promise dates") are met and taking appropriate action when suppliers fail to deliver on their commitments;
  • Analyze value stream spending data to assess margin expansion opportunities and value creation;
  • Identify and drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
What do you need to be successful?
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Administration/Commerce, Mechanical Engineering, and/or a related field;
  • More than 10 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Experience managing direct and indirect resources to achieve operational objectives;
  • Strong communication and leadership skills;
  • Strong functional, business, and strategic skills;
  • This position is situated in a French-speaking work environment, nevertheless, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand daily documentation and technical terms originating from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with international clients, suppliers, or colleagues.
