Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Kitimat, BC, is seeking Local Vacuum Truck and High Pressure Pump Operators to support the Industrial Services team. You will transport, remove, deliver, and collect hazardous wastes and assist with swamping while performing physical tasks to support the crew.

You will operate vac trucks, high pressure pumps, set up hoses, maintain logs, and ensure equipment is cleaned and stored after use. Travel may be required and after-hours callouts are possible.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 driver's license with clean abstract.
• Ability to operate manual transmission.
• Willingness to travel when required.
• Flexibility for after-hours callouts.

Responsibilities

• Operate various trucks for vacuum, hydro-vac, and high-pressure pump tasks as required by the customer.

Position Summary

Our GFL Industrial Services team is seeking Local Vacuum Truck and High Pressure Pump Operators in Kitimat, BC. The responsibilities include but are not limited to transporting, removing, delivering, and collecting diverse liquid and solid hazardous wastes from different locations. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to assist with swamping and undertake various physical tasks to support the team. This role also provides the opportunity to operate a wide range of vac trucks and gain experience with high pressure pumps and equipment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate various trucks to perform tasks required by the customer ranging from vacuum trucks and hydro-vacs to combo-vacs and high-pressure pumps and equipment.
• Set up and control hoses attached to the pumps to ensure safe and effective operations.
• Maintain and update the driver's logbook daily.
• Ensure all equipment and tooling is cleaned and stored in the appropriate unit, case, or container before it is returned to the shop.
• Participate in job site preparation, including the rigging in/out of equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Class 3 drivers’ license with an acceptable commercial driving abstract; Class 1 driver’s license is an asset.
• Must be able to operate manual transmission.
• Ability to travel when required.
• Flexibility of working after-hours for any call outs.
