Utility Project Coordinator

Objective:

Alstom is seeking a Utility Project Coordinator. This individual will be responsible for coordinating the Utility (LV/HV) supply needs for the project.

Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate HV/LV supply delivery based on internal stakeholders' needs.
  2. Gather the electrical needs (power requirement, location, etc.) in interface with the Signaling team.
  3. Coordinate design production (calculation notes, layouts) and submission based on utility requirements with Alstom's design team.
  4. Coordinate requests for permits and licenses based on project needs.
  5. Coordinate the construction subcontractors based on HV/LV supply needs.
  6. Propose any value for money optimization.
  7. Coordinate HV/LV needs from initial request to Toronto Utilities companies and HONI until commissioning of the installed system.
  8. Installation interface with Utilities, Customer, and partners to provide support to POS Sub-system.
  9. Participate in collecting REX on POS installation.
  10. Review and get approval from required stakeholders (Metrolinx, ESA, etc.) of design deliverables and reply to comments.
  11. Support the POS (Power Supply) Field Operation team in delivering the POS scope including deliverables, quotations, costing, etc.
Reporting

The position reports hierarchically to the Head of Construction for POS (Power Supply).

The candidate will liaise with:

  • Engineering: Central Engineering and Transverse Engineering team.
  • Project: Project management team.
  • Site: Construction management team.
  • Customer, Consultants, External stakeholders.
  • O&M and Civil Works partners.
  • Energy provider Hydro One (HONI) + IESO, other Utility companies.
  • Interfacing sub-systems (O&M, Trackwork, OCS, Signalling, Civil works).
  • Regional Engineering Centers.
Performance Measurements
  • Respect of Design For Quality (DFQ) milestones: 100% Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of their Metier.
  • Respect of performances of the system provided: 100%.
  • The quality of the works performed.
Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Electrical or Civil Engineering.

Asset:

  • Professional Engineer designation as per Ontario regulations or in progress.
Experience
  • A minimum of two to three years of experience in Electrical Utility Installation.
  • A first experience in a Utility company is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and installation engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of ESA rules, Canada Electrical standards, and common practices.
  • Autonomy, motivated, initiative, team spirit.
  • Fluent in English; a second language is appreciated.
  • Interpersonal skills (teamwork and leadership).
  • Decision-making ability.
  • Analytical and critical thinking.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Resilience.
