Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Telecommunications and Networking Engineer with a diploma in engineering technology or equivalent education and experience. The ideal candidate will have 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in network maintenance, installation, and operation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain, install, and operate wide area and local networks, including digital microwave, UHF, VHF, PLC, SCADA, RTUs, and telephony systems.
  2. Manage optical circuits such as OC3 multiplex, OC3 fibre, and T1 circuits.
  3. Splice and terminate fibre optic cables.
  4. Utilize network monitoring and troubleshooting tools effectively.
  5. Apply knowledge of network management and security protocols, routing, and traffic analysis.
  6. Operate network management software and adhere to telecommunications standards for transmission.
  7. Be available for remote work in a BC city with a medium to large airport.
  8. Asset: Understand protection and control systems in electric utilities.
  9. Asset: Conduct electrical equipment testing and commissioning procedures.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Annual salary ranging from $74,000 to $101,000, based on experience and qualifications.
