UX Researcher

Location: Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite, downtown Toronto

Duration: 1 year contract, approx 37 hrs/week

Rate: $45-60/hr (Depending on experience)

Position Overview

Our financial client is looking for a talented UX Researcher to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on design research and will play a pivotal role in shaping user-centered designs that enhance user experience and meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct usability testing to gather user feedback and insights.
2. Perform qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions.
3. Develop prototypes and wireframes that effectively communicate design concepts.
4. Analyze data to identify user behavior patterns and preferences.
5. Conduct interviews with users to understand their needs and pain points.
6. Apply human-centered design principles to create intuitive and engaging experiences.
7. Design and administer surveys to gather user feedback and insights.
8. Create journey maps to visualize user experiences and identify opportunities for improvement.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design alignment with business goals.
10. Leverage design thinking methodologies to solve complex design challenges.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field.
2. 7+ years experience as a UX Researcher.
3. Financial experience is strongly preferred.
4. Proven experience in usability testing and design research.
5. Strong skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
6. Proficiency in prototyping and wireframing tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.
7. Experience in data analysis and interpretation.
8. Excellent interviewing skills to gather user insights.
9. Familiarity with human-centered design practices and principles.
10. Ability to design effective surveys and analyze results.
11. Experience in journey mapping and interaction design.
12. Strong understanding of design thinking methodologies and persona development.
