Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences in Canada is seeking an Unregulated Care Aide to provide personal care, mobility support, and daily assistance to residents, helping them live comfortably and with dignity.

You will assist with laundry, light housekeeping, meals, and follow care plans while maintaining high hygiene standards and safety. Strong empathy and clear communication are essential to support residents and families.

Qualifications

  • Experience in personal care, laundry, food service, or support services.
  • Secondary education; post-secondary care training preferred.
  • Ability to read, follow, and communicate instructions effectively.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and understanding of seniors’ needs.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards, work safely with equipment, and manage time well.

Responsibilities

  • Help residents with personal care, mobility, and daily routines.
  • Provide support with laundry, light housekeeping, and meal service.
  • Administer medications and follow individual care plans.
  • Keep resident areas clean and safe, and follow all health and safety protocols.
  • Respond to resident and family concerns and report to the Health and Wellness Manager when needed.

What You’ll Do
  • Help residents with personal care, mobility, and daily routines like dressing and meals
  • Provide support with laundry, light housekeeping, and meal service
  • Administer medications and follow individual care plans [CS1]
  • Keep resident areas clean and safe, and follow all health and safety protocols
  • Respond to resident and family concerns and report to the Health and Wellness Manager when needed
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in personal care, laundry, food service, or support services
  • Secondary school education; post-secondary training in a care field preferred
  • Ability to read, follow, and communicate instructions effectively
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and understanding of seniors’ needs

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the role
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items
  • Preparedness to respond to emergency situations
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
