Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a compassionate Guest Attendant to support residents with daily living activities, personal care, and meals in a warm, home-like setting. You will assist with mobility, housekeeping, laundry, and meal service, follow care plans, and report concerns to the Health and Wellness Manager, contributing to safe, dignified living for our seniors.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal care, laundry, food service, or support services.
• Secondary school education; post-secondary training in a care field preferred.
• Ability to read, follow, and communicate instructions effectively.
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and understanding of seniors' needs.
• Maintain high hygiene standards, work safely with equipment, and manage time well.

Responsibilities

• Provide support with laundry, light housekeeping, and meal service.
• Administer medications and follow individual care plans.
• Keep resident areas clean and safe, and follow all health and safety protocols.

• Ability to work flexible hours as needed
• Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the role
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items
• Preparedness to respond to emergency situations
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required
• Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
