Job summary

Canada Life is seeking an Underwriting Training and Development Specialist to design and deliver comprehensive underwriting training across junior to senior levels. The role emphasizes program development, onboarding, and ongoing professional growth within the underwriting department.

The position involves creating materials, conducting workshops, ensuring policy compliance, and collaborating with risk and compliance teams. Occasional travel to office locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or related job experience.
• Professional Insurance qualifications (FLMI, FALU, etc.).
• Minimum 5–7 years in underwriting, training, or related role.
• Experience in developing and delivering training programs in an insurance environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage underwriting training programs.
• Deliver training sessions (classroom, webinars, e-learning, workshops).
• Create manuals, guides, case studies, and assessments.
• Lead onboarding and ongoing professional development for underwriters.
• Evaluate training effectiveness using assessments and metrics.
• Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to update content.
