Job summary

Alberta Motor Association (AMA) seeks a skilled analyst to collect and analyze data, identify deficient controls, and ensure underwriting adherence for new and renewal business. You will conduct pre-implementation audits and recommend improvements to enhance clarity, efficiency, and consistency in processes and systems.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting and/or related field.
  • 8 years of related Automobile and Property insurance underwriting experience.
  • FCIP or CIP designation is a plus; Auditor Training Certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data to identify issues in controls, duplication, or non-compliance with underwriting policies.
  • Review new and renewal business for adherence to underwriting rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct pre-implementation audits to assess potential success of new systems and programs.
  • Recommend improvements to procedures and underwriting manuals to improve clarity and consistency.
  • Develop comprehensive management reports and build strong stakeholder relationships.

How You'll Make an Impact

Report to the Supervisor of Corporate Underwriting.

Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and underwriting policies.

Determine if new or renewal business is rated in accordance with underwriting rules and regulatory requirements.

Conduct pre-implementation audits to determine if systems and programs under development will be successful.

Recommend improvements to existing procedures, system functionality and underwriting manuals to provide more clarity and consistency.

Develop comprehensive management reports to support recommendations for improvements in workflow processes and procedures.

Establish and maintain positive business relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

What You Bring to the Table
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting and/or a related field.
  • You have 8 years of related Automobile and Property insurance underwriting experience.
  • You'll get bonus points if you have a FCIP or CIP designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada.
  • You have or are willing to take auditing courses to obtain an Auditor Training Certificate.
  • You're technologically savvy and are proficient with Microsoft Office Programs and automated systems.
  • Experience in insurance is required.
