Job summary

Jacobs in Canada is seeking an Underground Transmission Line Design Lead to guide HV/EHV cable projects, provide technical leadership, and mentor a team of engineers in design, studies, and installation.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical engineering, 10+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years in underground cable design, and a PE/PEng license or ability to obtain within 6 months. We offer a hybrid work model and North America travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 10 years engineering experience with 5+ years in underground/subsea cable design and installation.
• PE/PEng license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in consulting, utility, or EPC environments.
• Familiarity with cable design software such as CYMCAP, Pull-Planner.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direct line management for engineers on underground transmission projects.
• Develop HV/EHV cabling system specifications, design reviews, and site support as required.
• Prepare power cable route specifications, technical specs, and progress reports.
• Coordinate with other engineering functions and stakeholders during projects.
