Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience and 5+ years with underground/subsea cable design.
• PE/PEng license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams in a consulting, utility, developer, or EPC environment.
• Proficiency with CYMCAP, Pull-Planner software.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and CIGRE standards.
• Willingness to travel within North America.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direct line management for engineers on underground transmission projects.
• Develop HV/EHV cabling specifications, design reviews, estimation, site supervision and support.
• Provide technical support on HV cable system engineering and design.
• Prepare power cable route specifications and progress reports.
• Coordinate interfaces with other engineering functions and stakeholders.
• Conduct meetings with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
• Perform design calculations and reviews for cabling systems.
• Mentor and develop direct reports; participate in workforce planning and hiring.
