Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Underground Transmission Line Design Lead in Ontario. You will provide technical leadership, lead a multidisciplinary team, and oversee HV/EHV cable design and installation for major projects. You will mentor engineers, manage performance, and contribute to business development.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, 10+ years of relevant experience, and can travel within North America. Proficiency with CYMCAP and Pull-Planner is preferred, with a competitive salary range for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or related engineering from a recognized institution.
• 10+ years of engineering industry experience with 5+ years in underground/subsea cable design.
• PE or PEng license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in consulting, utility, developer, or EPC environments.
• Experience with CYMCAP, Pull-Planner, and related cable design tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direct line management for engineers on underground transmission projects.
• Develop HV/EHV cabling system specifications, design reviews, and site supervision.
• Support the team on HV cable system engineering and design.
• Prepare cable route specs, technical reports, and progress updates.
• Lead meetings with clients and subcontractors; perform design reviews and calculations.
• Mentor staff, manage performance, and participate in workforce planning and hiring.
