Job summary

Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a full-time underground project at a Kamloops mine site in British Columbia. The role focuses on leading end-to-end execution, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants, and ensuring safety and governance compliance.

The successful candidate will bring 8+ years of mining/heavy industrial project experience, solid scheduling and budget management skills, and strong leadership and communication abilities

Qualifications

• 8+ years of project management experience in mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing small-to-mid-sized capital projects with high operational impact.
• Strong understanding of underground mining operations and infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with procurement and contract management processes.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management and execution of complex underground projects within an active mining environment, from planning and design through construction and commissioning
• Maintain full ownership of project schedule, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and dependencies are actively managed
• Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders, external engineering consultants, and contractors to drive execution
• Work alongside supply chain to support procurement planning, bid evaluations, and contract management
• Oversee project documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with site standards
• Provide clear, concise, and timely reporting to site leadership and senior management
• Supervise and provide direction to supporting team members, including a project scheduler and junior EIT
• Ensure all activities align with site safety standards, operational requirements, and project governance processes
