Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project management experience in mining or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience managing small-to-mid-sized capital projects with high operational impact.
  • Strong understanding of underground mining operations and infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, contractors, and technical teams.
  • Experience with procurement and contract management processes.
  • Strong leadership and supervision skills with the ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting complex information to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end management and execution of complex underground projects within an active mining environment, from planning and design through construction and commissioning.
  • Maintain full ownership of project schedule, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and dependencies are actively managed
  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders, external engineering consultants, and contractors to drive execution
  • Work alongside supply chain to support procurement planning, bid evaluations, and contract management
  • Oversee project documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with site standards
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely reporting to site leadership and senior management
  • Supervise and provide direction to supporting team members, including a project scheduler and junior EIT
  • Ensure all activities align with site safety standards, operational requirements, and project governance processes

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager for a full‑time secondment opportunity supporting a high‑priority underground project at a mine site in BC. This role will lead the execution of an underground upgrade project. The project is critical to site operations and requires disciplined oversight, coordination, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end‑to‑end management and execution of complex underground projects within an active mining environment, from planning and design through construction and commissioning.
  • Maintain full ownership of project schedule, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and dependencies are actively managed
  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders, external engineering consultants, and contractors to drive execution
  • Work alongside supply chain to support procurement planning, bid evaluations, and contract management
  • Oversee project documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with site standards
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely reporting to site leadership and senior management
  • Supervise and provide direction to supporting team members, including a project scheduler and junior EIT
  • Ensure all activities align with site safety standards, operational requirements, and project governance processes
  • 8+ years of project management experience in mining or heavy industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing small‑to‑mid‑sized capital projects with high operational impact.
  • Strong understanding of underground mining operations and infrastructure projects (ventilation experience considered an asset).
  • Previous project experience in an underground mine setting.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, contractors, and technical teams simultaneously.
  • Experience working with procurement and contract management processes.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders.
