Job summary

Lake Shore Gold is seeking a Chief Mine Geologist for the Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, Ontario. The role requires relocation to Timmins area and offers a full-time schedule with 8-hour days or 10-hour days on a 4-on/3-off cycle.

The Chief Geologist leads all underground geology activities, ensures model accuracy, supports short and long-range planning, and mentors a geology team while upholding safety standards and QA/QC processes.

Qualifications

• B.Sc in Geology is required.
• P.Geo in good standing required.
• 8–10 years of underground geology experience preferred.
• Ability to lead and mentor geology team and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily grade control and ore/waste calls underground.
• Oversee safety and environmental compliance for geology activities.
• Collect geological data through sampling and mapping; update databases.
• Review and approve underground mine layouts and stope designs.
• Lead mine planning input and reconcile geological models with Engineering.
• Develop and monitor annual drilling budget and schedules.
• Mentor and develop underground geotechnicians and staff.
• Identify near-mine exploration targets to support resource growth.
