Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Field Service Technician (Underground) to support mining operations in Ontario (near Quebec) with travel to local mine sites across Canada. You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical and electrical components, participate in commissioning and continuous improvement, and benefit from training, pension, health and disability coverage.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade certification; red seal is considered an asset.
• 3+ years related experience with mining equipment is an asset.
• Experience with mining equipment is an asset.
• Proficient in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Able to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions.
• Adjusting equipment and repairing/replacing defective parts, components, or systems according to the scope of work.
• Testing repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
• Commissioning new equipment.
• Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Completing accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports and parts lists.
• Staying current with the industry, customers, product developments and technical best practices.
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
