Job summary

Blackline Civil Inc. is seeking an experienced Underground Mainline Excavator Operator to join our civil construction team in Alberta. You will install water, sanitary and storm mains and work with grade crews to ensure precise trenching and backfill.

You will operate excavators with laser or GPS guidance, read grades, follow safety protocols, and coordinate with pipe layers to deliver projects on spec. We offer competitive hourly wages, strong project pipeline, and growth within our expanding

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating excavators in underground civil construction.
• Experience installing water, storm, and sanitary mains.
• Ability to read grades and work to tight tolerances.
• Experience with laser and GPS machine control systems.
• Valid driver’s license (Class 5; Class 3 an asset).

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators for underground utility installation (water, storm, sanitary).
• Excavate trenches to proper line and grade using laser or GPS guidance.
• Coordinate with pipe layers and grade crew for accurate installation.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain equipment daily.
• Assist with site prep, cleanup, and other tasks as needed.
