Job summary

Blackline Civil in Alberta is seeking an experienced Pipelayer to install underground water, sewer, and storm systems. You will work in trenches alongside operators and Topman to ensure pipe is installed safely and to proper line and grade.

The role requires 2–5+ years in underground utility construction, ability to read simple drawings, and comfort with trench work around heavy equipment. We offer competitive salary, extended health benefits, and opportunities to grow within a rapidly expanding

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years experience in underground utility construction.
• Strong knowledge of pipe installation methods, line & grade, and trench safety.
• Ability to read basic construction drawings.
• Experience working in trenches and around heavy equipment.
• Physically fit and able to handle demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Install water, sewer, and storm pipes in trenches.
• Prepare trench bottoms (bedding, leveling, compacting).
• Align and connect pipe to proper line and grade.
• Work with Topman and excavator operator during trenching.
• Install manholes, catch basins, and fittings.
• Check pipe elevations using lasers or grade rods.
• Ensure proper compaction and backfill.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pipelayer to install underground water, sewer, and storm systems. The successful candidate will work in trenches alongside operators and Topman to ensure pipe is installed safely and to proper line and grade.
