Job summary

The Minnesota Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program seeks a UI Supervisor to join our team in St. Paul. The role oversees daily operations, guides customer service staff, and ensures effective administration of core functions within UI.

This position is telework eligible with a day shift (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) Monday through Friday. Candidates should have experience in Minnesota UI and a proven record of leadership, coaching, and policy compliance. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance program.
• Four (4) years of experience as a supervisor, team lead, lead worker, or project lead AND at least six (6) months of experience in the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance program.
• Experience in UI must be within the last three (3) years.
• Experience coaching and training staff to lead a work unit.
• Experience in Minnesota UI laws, rules, departmental operations, practices, and procedures.
• Experience in human relations, collaboration with stakeholders, and building positive working relationships.
• Experience in organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supervising staff who provide customer service, determine eligibility, and complete employer audits under UI law.
• Managing workflows and performance to ensure timely, accurate, and respectful service.
• Coaching, training, and performance management to meet program goals.
• Applying labor agreements and employment policies consistently.
• Fostering a collaborative, mission-driven work environment focused on public service.
