OVERVIEW

The U17 Women’s National Team will be comprised of athletes born January 1, 2009 or later, who have Canadian citizenship. This year, the team selected will compete at the 2026 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup July 11th-19th in Czechia.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be responsible to assist the National Team Head Coach in the video-based scouting and performance analysis.
  • Attend all National Team Program (NTP) related events and Women’s High Performance (WHP) related events.
  • Assist the Head Coach and coaching staff in the breakdown of opponent’s game in advance of upcoming games.
  • Assist the Head Coach and coaching staff in the preparation of scouting reports in advance of upcoming games and/or preparation for future opponents as part of the SWNTP overall international scouting strategy.
  • Film all team practices and individual workouts, using the materials to create both educational pieces for use by the coaching staff when working with the athletes to develop Gold Medal Standard (GMS) performance and for use in WHP coaching education.
  • Film all team games (where allowed by FIBA) and breakdown each game through the software provided, using the tagging panel designed in conjunction with the Head Coach and Performance Analysis Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
  • Demonstrated aptitude for technology.
  • Proficiency in the use of performance analysis tools, i.e. video analysis software and advanced statistics.
  • Experience in or knowledge of international or professional basketball. Knowledge of the technical and tactical aspects of basketball
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of independence and initiative and to be flexible and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Have the ability to work as a member of a team of dedicated professional in the pursuit of common goals.
