Job summary

Charger Logistics Inc. is seeking a skilled Service Department technician in Dorval, QC. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair medium and heavy-duty trucks, perform preventative maintenance, and restore equipment while ensuring safety standards are met.

Fresh graduates of Truck & Coach or Motive Power programs are welcome. A valid G-class license with a clean record is preferred and knowledge of DOT/MTO rules is a plus.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates from Truck & Coach or Motive Power programs.
• G-class license with clean driving record is preferred.
• Knowledge of truck parts, repairs, and DOT/MTO rules is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive reports and diagnose problems using test drives and instruments.
• Perform preventative maintenance, brakes, steering, electrical diagnostics on medium/heavy trucks.
• Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment to keep uptime high.
• Restore equipment efficiently in a cost-effective manner.
• Follow Charger safety procedures on all tasks.

We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our Service Department based out of our Dorval office.

Responsibilities{{{{:}}}}

• Receive driver and owner/operator reports and conduct initial inspection to diagnose problem using test drives and test instruments, such as pressure gauges, motor analyzers, and other equipment as needed
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, warranty procedures, steering and suspension, electrical diagnostics, etc. all on medium and heavy duty trucks
• Clean, repair, recondition and maintain equipment and components
• Responsible for getting equipment back up and running in the most efficient and cost-effective manner available
• Perform all tasks according to Charger safety procedures

Requirements

• 310T and/or 310J licenses are an asset
• Freshers graduated from Truck & coach technician course or Motive Power technician course
• Valid G-class driver’s license with clear driving record
• Knowledge of truck parts and equipment and truck repairs
• Knowledge of DOT/MTO rules and regulations is an asset
• Effective problem solver with the ability to understand issues and find solutions in a timely manner
• High attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
