Job summary

Sobeys in Debert, Nova Scotia is hiring a Truck Driver to deliver customer orders and pick up merchandise within our distribution network. You will operate company vehicles safely, keep documentation, and support a positive work environment.

The role requires 2–3 years of tractor-trailer or straight truck experience, a valid Class 1 Driver's License, and a High School Diploma. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and shifts that may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Two to three years' experience driving tractor-trailer or straight truck.
• Class 1 Driver's License.

• Physical work including frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.
• Two-person lift required for weights exceeding 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Various shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Accurate case-count delivered vs order.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders or pick up merchandise safely.
• Maintain documentation and report damages or repairs.
• Drive transport truck or straight truck in a safe and respectful manner.
• Ensure merchandise loaded in vehicle is stowed in a safe and damage-free manner.
• Verify that case-count delivered corresponds with order and handle credits/damages.
• Maintain good relations with customers through cooperative attitude and neat appearance.
• Follow driver SOP and pay attention to detail.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment per company requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Ensure that the proper documentation is maintained
