Job summary

Sobeys in Oromocto, NB is seeking a dedicated Truck Driver to deliver customer orders and pick up merchandise. You will operate company vehicles safely, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure loads are secured while upholding a professional appearance to foster strong customer relations.

Two to three years of tractor-trailer or straight truck experience, a Class 1 license, and the ability to work evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Proven two to three years experience driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck.
• High School Graduate.
• Class 1 Driver's License.
• Physical ability for frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.
• Two-person lift for weights over 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Alertness to other people and vehicles.
• Shifts including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders or pick up merchandise using company vehicles in a safe, expeditious manner.
• Maintain proper documentation for deliveries and pickups.
• Maintain equipment and report damages or malfunctions.
• Ensure merchandise is loaded securely and matches the order.
• Maintain good working relations with customers through a cooperative attitude and professional appearance.
• Follow driver SOP and pay attention to detail to ensure safety.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment plus perform other duties as assigned by manager.

The Truck Driver will deliver customer orders or pick up merchandise byoperatingthe company vehicles in a safe andexpeditiousmanner. Actively contributes to a positive and productive working environment.

Ensure that the proper documentation is maintained

Maintain equipment and report any damages, necessary repairs, or malfunctions

Drive transport truck or straight truck in a safe and respectful manner

Ensure merchandise loaded in vehicle is stowed in a safe and damage-free manner

Ensure case-count delivered corresponds with order, pick up credit, or damaged product

Alwaysmaintaingood working relations with customersthrough cooperative attitude and well-groomed appearance

Exercisegood drivingmanners and taking precautionary measures during inclement weather conditions

Follow the instructions outlined in the driver SOP and pay attention to detail

Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements

Responsible for all other duties assigned by manager
