Job summary

Home Hardware is seeking an experienced Class 1 truck driver to join our Road team. You will load and unload dealer returns, deliver across Western Canada and Ontario, and represent Home Hardware with safety and customer service at the forefront.

Under the Dispatch Supervisor, you will use on-board technology for paperwork, maintain vehicle condition, and help grow relationships with our independent dealers while earning a strong compensation package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Customer-oriented mindset and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with independent dealers as the Home Hardware ambassador.
• Load dealer returns for transport to Distribution Centre.
• Comply with government regulations described in Driver’s Manual.
• Operate vehicles safely and keep them clean; inspect vehicle and trailer.
• Complete paperwork using on-board tech and light computer/data entry.

• Building relationships with our independent Dealers as an ambassador for Home Hardware Stores Limited.
• Loading Dealer returns for transport to the Distribution Centre.
• Complying with all government regulations described in the professional Driver’s Manual.
• Operating vehicles in a safe and professional manner, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and inspecting the vehicle and trailer to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Completing and delivering all necessary paperwork using on-board technology as required, along with light computer work and data entry.

We’re looking for:

• Class 1 driver’s license with Q Endorsement with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.
• High school diploma.
• Mountain driving experience.
• 2-3 years of similar experience preferred with a good safety record. B-Train experience would be an asset.
• Ability to carry out deliveries throughout Western Canada and Ontario.
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, superior customer service and communication skills.

• Typically, drivers in this role earn between $80,000 and $130,000 annually.
