Job summary

Nuv Transport Ltd. is hiring a full-time driver to service North America and beyond. The role involves transporting and handling dangerous goods in a tanked trailer, loading and unloading, and conducting thorough vehicle inspections.

You will communicate with dispatch, log cargo information, and drive a tractor-trailer on routes around Fort St. John and Grande Prairie, with shifts 6:00 am to 6:00 pm and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Secondary education completed.
• At least 7 months of experience and eligibility for Class 1 MELT license.
• Ability to travel within Fort St. John and Grande Prairie corridors.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service in a truck environment.
• Transport and handle dangerous goods in a tanked trailer.
• Load and unload goods and perform pre/post-trip inspections.
• Inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment; perform brake adjustments.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Relay information to central dispatch and record cargo data.
• Drive tractor-trailer and ensure compliance with hours of service.

Job Description

• Professionalism in customer service
• Transport and handle dangerous goods in a truck tractor with a tanked trailer
• Load and unload goods
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform brake adjustments
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Drive truck tractor and tanker trailer

Requirements

• Education: Completion of secondary education is required.
• Experience: At least 7 months of experience is required. Be eligible to obtain a class 1 MELT license.

Salary

$38.40 per hour. 40-48 hours per week

Important Information

Work is Monday through Saturday, shifts scheduled between 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Overtime and work on holidays will be required depending on the business needs.
