Tasks
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and emissions.
- Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques.
- Drive as part of a team or convoy.
- Load and unload goods.
- Obtain permits and documents for international cargo transport.
- Operate and drive trucks to transport goods.
- Inspect vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and storage equipment.
- Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Communicate with dispatch and record cargo details, hours, distance, and fuel usage.
- Ensure cargo safety and security, including tarping.
