Job summary

Sobeys is seeking a Truck Driver to support its Canada-wide grocery distribution network. The driver will deliver customer orders or pick up merchandise, operating company vehicles safely while contributing to a positive, productive environment.

Responsibilities include pre-inspecting the truck, completing manifests, maintaining documentation, and unloading at stores. The role requires 2–3 years of driving experience, a Class 1 license, and physical stamina for lifting and long periods of

Qualifications

• Two to three years' experience driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck.
• High School diploma preferred.
• Class 1 Driver's License.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Pre-inspect truck
• Complete manifest/logbook
• Ensure that the proper documentation is maintained
• Maintain equipment and report damages, necessary repairs, or malfunctions
• Drive transport truck or straight truck in a safe and respectful manner
• Unload trailer at stores
• Ensure case-count delivered corresponds with order, pick up credit, or damaged product
• Always maintaining good working relations with customers through cooperative attitude and well-groomed appearance
• Exercise good driving manners and taking precautionary measures during inclement weather conditions
• Follow the instructions outlined in the driver SOP and pay attention to detail
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements
• Responsible for all other duties assigned by manager
