Job summary

RBC is seeking a Senior Manager, Application Development and Integration in Toronto to lead a delivery team of engineers and contractors, guiding technical strategy and project execution in Treasury Management integration services.

You will partner with product owners, set engineering direction, and drive modernization initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost efficiency. A strong leadership, communication, and financial services background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of technical leadership management experience in software development.
• Minimum of 5 years of recent financial services or fintech experience.
• Experience with DevOps, CD/CI tools- GitHub, Helios or similar tools and Cloud technologies (OpenShift, Azure, AWS etc.).
• Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.
• Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.
• A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.
• Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of development and application specialist resources; including FTEs, and contractors.
• Provide direction, feedback, coaching and development to build staff capability.
• Partner with Product Owners and Technical resources aligned to our Business Partners.
• Set technical direction ensuring alignment with IT strategy.
• Contribute to technical strategy, roadmap and currency for applications.
• Advise on technical and management direction for applications and processes.
• Manage day-to-day resource allocation and staffing needs.
• Establish engineering best practices including DevOps, CI/CD, and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and timely risk resolution.
• Research trends and implications for solutions within the portfolio.
• Coordinate 3rd party vendor relationships and communications.
