Job summary

Komatsu Canada seeks a Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright for the National Service Group. You will assemble and commission large mining equipment on project sites across Canada, with travel up to 50% and rotations 7x7 or 14x14.

Office in Edmonton, field assignments nationwide, and a comprehensive benefits package. Expect hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with supervisors and customers on-site.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and lifting equipment
• Experience assembling, maintaining, or repairing mining equipment
• Knowledge of P&H shovels, drills, loaders, or other large mining equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Valid driver's license and ability to access mine sites
• Able to lift 50lbs safely

Responsibilities

• Assemble and commission P&H shovels, drills, and loaders in accordance with OEM specifications
• Perform mechanical installation, adjustment, alignment, and functional testing of heavy mining equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related equipment issues
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifting devices, and mobile equipment as required
• Read and interpret drawings, service manuals, assembly procedures, and work instructions
• Collaborate effectively with supervisors, planners, electricians, welders, and customer representatives
