Mission Services of Hamilton is seeking a Shelter Support Worker to join a team and provide practical support and advocacy to male identified individuals from a client-centered, trauma-informed, harm-reduction and anti-racist anti-oppressive perspective.

The role involves 12-hour shifts with nights and weekends, with a starting wage of 24.13 per hour. Qualifications include a diploma or degree in related fields, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Formación

• Diploma in Social Service Work, Addictions Studies or degree in Social Science.
• Understanding of addictions issues and crisis shelter operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and interact with residents on all shifts as part of the case management team.
• Maintain security of residents and buildings on all shifts.
• Prepare intake, documentation, records and reporting.
• Communicate with case management team on resident stays.
• Provide direction to volunteers and students and ensure procedures are followed.
• Identify health and safety concerns and report to management.
