Job summary

School District No.57 (Prince George) seeks a 1.0 FTE Gr. 5/6 teacher for a limited duration contract.

The candidate should have a BC teaching certificate (or be eligible), knowledge of redesigned curriculum, and experience with assessment for learning and trauma-informed practice. Experience integrating Indigenous culture and Truth and Reconciliation is preferred, with strong collaboration and tech integration.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application).
• Letter from the TRB stating requirements to attain permanent certification if conditional.
• Knowledge of redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
• Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching.
• Proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies.
• Experience integrating local Indigenous culture and Truth and Reconciliation principles.
• Ability to use diverse teaching strategies for inclusive learning.
• Experience integrating experiential/inquiry learning into curriculum.
• Experience teaching and supporting social and emotional learning.
• Proven ability to create a positive learning environment with strong classroom management.
• Commitment to collaborate in a team and integrate technology into curriculum.
• Ability to establish relationships with students, staff, parents, and community.
• Current, valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
