Job summary

School District No. 57 (Prince George) invites applications for a 1.0 FTE English 9 (2 Blocks) & English 10 (2 Blocks) Limited Duration Contract Teacher at Duchess Park Secondary School.

Applicants with assessment and trauma-informed practice experience are preferred. The successful candidate must hold a BC teaching certificate and demonstrate inclusive, culturally responsive teaching, including First Nations principles and Truth and Reconciliation, with collaborative and technology-enabled

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for membership in the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch.
• Possess BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application).
• Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
• Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching.
• A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies.
• Experience integrating local Indigenous culture and Truth and Reconciliation principles into curriculum.
• Ability to use varied teaching strategies to accommodate all learners in an inclusive setting.
• Experience integrating experiential or inquiry learning into curriculum.
• Training in teaching and supporting social and emotional learning.
• Proven ability to develop a positive learning environment and strong classroom management.
• Commitment to collaborating in a team and using technology in the curriculum.
