Job summary

Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic seeks a Court Support Worker to coordinate and support survivors involved in its Criminalization of Women Project. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, client-centered access to services across legal and community supports, with emphasis on case management and continuity of care.

The position is a one-year, full-time contract with duties ranging from court accompaniment to advocacy, reporting, and inter-agency collaboration.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent experience in law, social work, gender studies, etc.
• Knowledge of legal processes, especially for survivors of trauma.
• Experience with survivors or in legal support roles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Accompany survivors to court, meetings, and related appointments.
• Help clients understand court processes, expectations and outcomes.
• Provide emotional support before, during and after court appearances.
• Assist with referrals to community resources and coordination with legal counsel.
• Maintain client confidentiality and accurate case records.
