Job summary

Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic is seeking an Assessment & Client Support Worker on a 1-year full-time contract to support the Central Intake Team. You will perform intakes, assess risk, and arrange relevant referrals while maintaining confidential client records.

The role requires a post-secondary degree in law, social work or counselling, at least two years' experience with survivors of gender-based violence, and strong trauma-informed, anti-oppression practice.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in law, social work or counselling or equivalent education
  • Minimum 2 years full-time experience working with women survivors of gender-based violence
  • Knowledge of Ontario Family Law, Criminal, Immigration and Refugee and Child Welfare processes
  • Trauma-informed feminist anti-oppression approach to supporting survivors
  • Excellent case note documentation and administrative skills
  • Ability to work under stress and manage competing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Perform intake processes with efficiency and accuracy
  • Assess safety and risk, initiate high-risk protocols
  • Provide information and referrals for legal, counselling and housing needs
  • Coordinate appointments with lawyers, counselors and housing staff
  • Communicate with police and Victim Witness Assistance program when needed
  • Maintain up-to-date client records in EMHWare and book interpreters
