Job description

Registered Psychotherapist | Registered Social Worker
Trauma Focused Therapist

New Moon Psychotherapy is a thriving Toronto-based group practice specializing in evidence-based treatment for PTSD, complex trauma, and sexual trauma.

Our team is authentic, thoughtful, and clinically sharp. We believe deeply in our clients’ capacity to heal. We don’t collude with avoidance or treat trauma survivors as fragile. Instead, we offer compassionate, structured care that helps clients build safety, develop agency, and move towards meaningful recovery.

We’re cultivating a community of skilled trauma therapists who understand the complex impacts of trauma and are passionate about doing focused, transformative work.

If you’re an experienced, trauma-trained therapist who wants to do meaningful work with motivated clients – and grow alongside a clinical team – we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Love About Working With Us
  • A bright, welcoming office near Queen and Spadina, with access to a rooftop patio during the summer.
  • A steady stream of motivated clients seeking trauma-focused therapy.
  • Comprehensive administrative support, including advertising, intake, scheduling, billing, and tech, so you can focus on doing the work you love.
  • Quarterly lunch & learns, clinical consultation opportunities, and an annual professional development grant.
  • A thoughtful, collaborative team grounded in trauma-informed and anti-oppressive care.
  • Optional opportunities to provide couples therapy, facilitate workshops, and contribute to other areas of the practice.

  • Wholeheartedly rejects labels such as “difficult” or “resistant” and approaches each client with curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to meet them where they are.
  • Are trained in one or more trauma-focused approaches, such as EMDR through an EMDRIA-approved training program, CPT, DBR, or IFS. Training in EMDR 2.0 is an asset.
  • Thoughtfully integrate other evidence-based approaches, such as DBT, ACT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, somatic approaches, or Polyvagal Theory.
  • Have a strong understanding of PTSD, complex trauma, and trauma-related dissociation and feel confident providing clear, accessible psychoeducation about trauma, including sexual trauma.
  • Are passionate about supporting survivors of interpersonal trauma, including childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, betrayal trauma, grooming, and intimate partner violence.
  • Provide sex-positive, culturally responsive, and affirming care across identities.
  • Value being part of a collaborative community of thoughtful, skilled clinicians.
