DECIEM | THE ABNORMAL BEAUTY COMPANY in Mississauga is seeking a Transportation Manager to provide day-to-day leadership of the global Transportation function, ensuring compliant, efficient movement of goods and coordinating projects. This contract role runs through June 30, 2027 and offers a hybrid schedule (4 days in-office, 1 day remote).

Candidates should have 5+ years in transportation/logistics, experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SAP), and a track record of process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience leading transportation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of global transportation operations and service providers.
• Advanced experience with ERP and transportation systems (D365 and SAP).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily global transportation activities to ensure timely, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods.
• Monitor transportation performance, service levels, carrier execution, shipment issues, and priorities across regions.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, carriers, freight forwarders, customs/brokerage providers, and other logistics partners to maintain service continuity.
• Utilize ERP and transportation systems to monitor transactions, shipments, costs, and performance.
• Lead transportation projects, system enhancements, and process improvements for better service and cost efficiency.
• Resolve complex transportation escalations impacting service, routing, or documentation.
• Monitor spend and KPIs, identify cost-avoidance opportunities, and optimize resource utilization.
• Make day-to-day operational decisions on priorities, carrier selection, and routing within policy.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Transportation Manager exists to provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the global Transportation function, ensuring efficient, compliant, and uninterrupted transportation operations. The Lead is responsible for coordinating daily activities, managing and supporting transportation-related projects and process improvements, resolving operational escalations, and serving as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external transportation partners. The role also provides cross-functional backup coverage for the four existing Transportation positions during periods of vacation, illness, or other absences, ensuring continuity of critical transportation activities and maintaining service levels across the business.

This position is a contract that will expire on June 30th, 2027 and is based out of our Distribution Center located in Mississauga. This position offers a hybrid work schedule of 4-days a week in-office and 1-day a week work-from-home.

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000.

Exact hourly rate depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Hourly range may vary based on geographic location.

WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

• Lead and coordinate daily global transportation activities to ensure timely, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods.
• Monitor transportation performance, service levels, carrier execution, shipment issues, and operational priorities across regions.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, carriers, freight forwarders, customs/brokerage providers, and other logistics partners to maintain service continuity.
• Utilize ERP and transportation systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), SAP, and TMS platforms, to monitor transactions, shipments, costs, and operational performance
• Lead transportation-related projects, system enhancements, process improvements, and initiatives designed to improve service, efficiency, visibility, and cost performance. Identify opportunities to standardize processes in the department and implement sustainable improvements.
• Resolve complex transportation escalations involving service disruptions, carrier performance, shipment delays, routing issues, documentation, system transactions, and other operational challenges.
• Monitor transportation spend, service performance, carrier KPIs, and operational metrics against established targets. Review transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost avoidance, savings, and improved utilization of transportation resources
• Make day-to-day operational decisions regarding transportation priorities, shipment execution, carrier selection or escalation, routing, service recovery, and resource allocation within established policies and delegated authority.
• Provide functional leadership, direction, and subject‑matter expertise to the Transportation team and establish priorities to support current and future business requirements.
• Coordinate workload, coverage, priorities, and resources across the function to ensure effective service delivery

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Transportation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience leading transportation projects and continuous improvement initiatives, including process standardization and system enhancements.
• Strong knowledge of global transportation operations, including carriers, freight forwarders, routing, shipment execution, and service providers
• Advanced experience with ERP and transportation systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and SAP
