Job summary

DECIEM, The Abnormal Beauty Company, is seeking a Manager, Global Tax for a 12-month contract at its Liberty Village Head Office in Toronto. Hybrid work is offered. The base salary range is CAD 95,000–CAD 110,000, with final pay depending on experience and location.

The role requires 5+ years in Global Tax, strong control design knowledge, and the ability to manage tax compliance across multiple markets. You will lead statutory reporting, coordinate with auditors, and maintain transfer pricing

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of control design within the role’s span of controls.
• Ability to perform control activities timely with proper evidence.
• Education in Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Global Tax.
• Strong problem solving and time-management skills in a global environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of statutory reporting for each country of operations.
• Coordinate with third party service providers/auditors to ensure deadlines and tax treatments for projects.
• Prepare and maintain legal entity reporting and T106 documentation with PUС suppression calculations.
• Prepare working papers for income tax filings and review new tax laws in markets where Deciem is registered.
• Review reseller setup to ensure Tax information is collected for invoices.
• Maintain tax records, including refunds and renewals.
• Prepare transfer pricing working papers and quarterly entries for transfer pricing positions.
• Manage tax accounts and create deferred tax schedules with alignment across teams.
• Prepare journal entries for financial reporting and ensure control design is operating as intended.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Manager, Global Tax to join our Accounting & Controllership team on a 12-month contractual basis. This position will be based out of our Head Office located in Liberty Village, Toronto and offers a hybrid working scheduled.

PAY RANGE

The anticipated base salary for this position is $95,000 to $110,000.

Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

• Lead the preparation of statutory reporting for each country of operations


• Coordinate with third party service providers/auditors to ensure compliance with deadlines and Consult with counterparts on tax treatment for projects launching in various geographic regions


• Prepare and maintain legal entity reporting and Prepare and maintain T106 documentation as well as PUC suppression calculations


• Prepare working papers for income tax filings and Research and review new tax laws that are passed in markets that Deciem is registered in. This would include the tax rates, change in tax application as well as tax status


• Review new reseller setup to ensure all the Tax information are collected. This will reduce any issues in invoicing the resellers


• Maintain tax records. Includes tracking expiration and renewal requirements and Keep a record of all tax refunds that are available and making sure the refunds are collected/received


• Prepare transfer pricing working papers and Calculate and prepare quarterly entries for transfer pricing positions, as needed


• Manage all tax accounts from both a balance sheet and income statement perspective and Create deferred tax schedules and work with ELC counterparts to ensure alignment


• Prepare all journal entries for financial reporting


• Demonstrate deep understanding of control design within the role’s span of controls, including how the control is supposed to operate


• Perform the control as its designed on a timely basis, inclusive of retaining appropriate evidence (calculations, explanations, emails, preparer’s dated sign off)

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

• Demonstrate deep understanding of control design within the role’s span of controls, including how the control is supposed to operate


• Perform the control as its designed on a timely basis, inclusive of retaining appropriate evidence (calculations, explanations, emails, preparer’s dated sign off)


• Relevant education in Finance / Business Administration OR equivalent work experience in finance and operations required


• 5+ years of experience working in Global Tax


• Problem solver with extensive ability to operationalize, leveraging excellence in time management, demonstrates ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines in a global, matrixed environment
