Job summary

BBA Consultants in Canada seeks an electrical transmission engineer to contribute to feasible studies through commissioning on major projects across the country. You will collaborate with substations, civil engineering, geotechnical and environmental teams to deliver reliable, sustainable solutions.

You will apply your expertise on large-scale transmission projects, mentoring teammates and supporting procurement and construction phases while advancing best practices in design and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering or related.
• Minimum 3–8 years of experience in distribution line design.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Knowledge of standards for electrical distribution networks.
• Experience in drawings, specifications and construction support.
• Fluent in English and French for collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design power transmission infrastructure 69 kV and higher.
• Develop concepts and perform engineering studies.
• Prepare and optimize PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE models.
• Perform mechanical, structural and electrical calculations.
• Design support structures and foundations.
• Review technical deliverables and cost estimates.
• Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines.
• Provide technical support during procurement and construction.
• Mentor junior team members.

Join BBA and contribute to the successful delivery of strategic electrical power transmission projects across Canada. As part of our team, you will be involved in every stage of electrical infrastructure projects, from feasibility studies through commissioning.

You will leverage your technical expertise on large-scale projects focused on transmitting energy through the power transmission network. You will work closely with specialists in substations, civil engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental services and construction to develop reliable, safe and sustainable solutions.

You will be involved in a variety of projects for utilities, renewable energy producers and major industrial clients across Quebec and throughout Canada.

Position Requirements And Qualifications At a Glance

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in distribution line design.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Knowledge of standards and practices applicable to electrical distribution networks.
• Experience in preparing drawings and specifications, as well as providing construction support.
• Advanced level of English to foster effective collaboration with BBA offices and/or clients located in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally (the frequency of English use may vary from occasional to daily depending on active projects).
• Advanced level of French to foster effective collaboration with BBA offices and/or clients located in Quebec.
• Asset: Knowledge of complementary software such as PLS-TOWER, L-Pile or SAG10.
