Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking a CEP with strong civil/electrical engineering foundations to design and analyze transmission and distribution structures and foundations. You will model lines and terrain with PLS-CADD, perform electrical studies, and prepare comprehensive reports and plans with guidance from mentors.

The role offers hybrid work in Canada, collaboration with multiple offices, and opportunities to engage in complex challenges across local and international projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or electrical engineering.
• Advanced French and English skills for collaboration with Québec offices/clients.
• Asset: specialization in structures, foundations or power (electrical) engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design steel, wood and composite structures and foundations for transmission and distribution lines.
• Model and analyze overhead lines, cables, structures and terrain using PLS-CADD.
• Perform electrical calculations and studies, with guidance from technical mentors.
• Prepare studies, reports, cost estimates, plans and specifications.
• Find solutions to technical problems requiring rigour and in-depth analysis.
• Coordinate multiple projects with support from experienced managers.
• Visit sites occasionally for inspections, data collection or monitoring.

Your future role on our team

To support the growth of our business line for overhead transmission and distribution lines, we’re looking for a CEP who’s motivated to learn, push their limits and grow in an extremely technically rich environment.

Type of position: Regular

You’ll join an experienced team with members located across Canada, mainly in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Montréal, Toronto and Calgary. Made up of engineers and technicians ranging from junior to expert, the team works on a variety of projects that span the entire facility life cycle, from preliminary studies to commissioning.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering; the field of overhead lines is multidisciplinary, making it a great fit for people with broad interests
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
• Asset: specialization in structures, foundations or power (electrical) engineering
