Job summary

BBA Consultants in Canada is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join our team, supporting feasibility studies, detailed design and commissioning of major electrical power transmission projects across Canada. You will apply your technical expertise to large-scale line design, benchmarking against standards and delivering work on time and within budget.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Fluency in English and French to coordinate with teams and clients.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Experience with electrical distribution networks.

Responsibilities

• Design power transmission infrastructure rated at 69 kV and above.
• Develop technical concepts and perform engineering studies.
• Prepare and optimize PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE models.
• Perform mechanical, structural and electrical calculations.
• Coordinate technical interfaces with associated disciplines.
• Provide technical support during procurement and construction.
• Mentor less experienced team members.

Your future role on our team

Join BBA and contribute to the successful delivery of strategic electrical power transmission projects across Canada. As part of our team, you will be involved in every stage of electrical infrastructure projects, from feasibility studies through commissioning.

You will leverage your technical expertise on large-scale projects focused on transmitting energy through the power transmission network. You will work closely with specialists in substations, civil engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental services and construction to develop reliable, safe and sustainable solutions.

You will be involved in a variety of projects for utilities, renewable energy producers and major industrial clients across Quebec and throughout Canada.

Position requirements and qualifications at a glance

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in distribution line design.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Knowledge of standards and practices applicable to electrical distribution networks.
• Experience in preparing drawings and specifications, as well as providing construction support.
• Advanced level of English to foster effective collaboration with BBA offices and/or clients located in English‑speaking Canadian provinces and internationally (the frequency of English use may vary from occasional to daily depending on active projects).
• Advanced level of French to foster effective collaboration with BBA offices and/or clients located in Quebec.
• Asset: Knowledge of complementary software such as PLS-TOWER, L-Pile or SAG10.
