Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Canada is seeking a Transition Manager II to lead mobilization efforts during construction, manage warranty programs post-construction, and support operations as new projects onboard to meet contractual obligations.

You will coordinate schedules, review contracts, prepare compliance workbooks in Excel, run transition meetings, and train staff to ensure timely delivery and risk reduction.

Qualifications

  • 7 years experience in facility management and operations discipline including planning and scheduling, subcontractor management, project management.
  • 5 years experience in P3 account transition or operations management.
  • High proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet and CMMS applications.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of a wide area of P3 FM/M&O business, business systems and infrastructures.
  • Ability to plan and execute projects and a high degree of effectiveness in team leadership.
  • Occasional travel (10%) required.

Responsibilities

  • Review project contracts, identify deliverables and create compliance workbooks (Excel).
  • Build compliant transition schedules (MS Project) and chair schedule review meetings.
  • Update schedules with milestones, commissioning events and training requirements.
  • Create monthly transition schedule summaries and maintain archives.
  • Train and support onboarding of new staff.
  • Coordinate warranty protocol reviews and deliver warranty management presentations.
  • Plan and chair post-construction warranty meetings with operations and design builders.

What you will do

The Transition Manager II will be responsible for managing the Mobilization efforts during the construction phase, Warranty Program during the post-construction phase, and providing general support to Operations as new projects are onboarded to ensure we meet and are compliant with contractual obligations.

How you will do it

Mobilization / Transition Management:

  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Review Project Contracts and Identify deliverables
  • Create Contract Compliance Workbooks tracking deliverables by party and delivery time (MS Excel)
  • Build Transitions Schedules that are compliant with contracts (MS Project)
  • Chair and Coordinate Transition Schedule Review Meetings with site teams, management and SMEs
  • Regularly review Transition Schedule with Site teams to ensure compliance
  • Update Transition schedules as needed including Design Build milestones, relevant commissioning events and training requirements.
  • Create Monthly Summaries of Transition Schedule
  • Maintain archive of Transition Schedules and Contract Compliance Workbooks
  • Train, support onboarding of new staff

Warranty Management:

  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Review contract and develop Warranty Protocol for Post Construction to be followed by parties that is contract compliant
  • Coordinate Warranty Protocol Review sessions with Design Builder and relevant parties
  • Prepare and deliver Warranty Management Presentations to Shareholders (Design Builder, Customer, Project Co/Developer)
  • Compile all relevant Asset Warranty Schedule Data (as provided by Design Builder)
  • After construction is completed plan and chair regular Warranty Management meetings with Operations Teams and Design Builder
  • Prepare and track all active Warranty Service Events as they occur and communicate with parties if KPI deadlines are approaching to avoid risk.
  • Assist relevant parties with relief and extension requests to Customer
  • Review monthly PARs and maintain records of Warranty Related Deductions.
  • Prepare post-warranty review including number of warranty events, breakdown by asset types and areas, with summary outlining overall savings.

HIRING SALARY RANGE

$99,300 - $149,100 CAD (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
