Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Transition Manager II to oversee mobilization during construction and warranty management post-construction, coordinating with site teams to ensure contractual obligations are met.

The role requires leading multiple projects, reviewing contracts, building schedules, and delivering monthly summaries, while training new staff and supporting operations as new projects come onboard. Strong proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet, and CMMS, plus travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • 7 years experience in facility management and operations discipline including planning and scheduling, subcontractor management, project management
  • 5 years experience in P3 account transition or operations management
  • High proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet and CMMS applications
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of a wide area of P3 FM/O&M Business, business systems and infrastructures
  • Ability to plan and execute projects and a high degree of effectiveness in team leadership
  • Occasional travel (10%) required

Responsibilities

  • Manage Mobilization and Transition across multiple projects while ensuring contract compliance.
  • Review project contracts and identify deliverables.
  • Create Contract Compliance Workbooks to track deliverables.
  • Build Transition Schedules compliant with contracts (MS Project).
  • Chair Transition Schedule Review meetings with site teams, management and SMEs.
  • Regularly review Transition Schedule with site teams to ensure compliance.
  • Update Transition schedules with milestones, commissioning events and training.
  • Create monthly Summaries of Transition Schedule and maintain archives.
  • Train and onboard new staff.
  • Develop Warranty Protocols and coordinate review sessions for post-construction.
  • Prepare and deliver Warranty Management Presentations to stakeholders.
  • Track active Warranty Service Events and communicate KPI deadlines.
  • Assist with relief and extension requests to Customer.
  • Review PARs and maintain records of Warranty Deductions.
  • Prepare post-warranty review with asset-type breakdown and savings.

What You Will Do

The Transition Manager II will be responsible for managing the Mobilization efforts during the construction phase, Warranty Program during the post-construction phase, and providing general support to Operations as new projects are onboarded to ensure we meet and are compliant with contractual obligations.

The Transition Manager II will be responsible for managing the Mobilization efforts during the construction phase, Warranty Program during the post-construction phase, and providing general support to Operations as new projects are onboarded to ensure we meet and are compliant with contractual obligations.

How You Will Do It

Mobilization / Transition Management:

  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Review Project Contracts and Identify deliverables
  • Create Contract Compliance Workbooks tracking deliverables by party and delivery time (MS Excel)
  • Build Transitions Schedules that are compliant with contracts (MS Project)
  • Chair and Coordinate Transition Schedule Review Meetings with site teams, management and SMEs
  • Regularly review Transition Schedule with Site teams to ensure compliance
  • Update Transition schedules as needed including Design Build milestones, relevant commissioning events and training requirements.
  • Create Monthly Summaries of Transition Schedule
  • Maintain archive of Transition Schedules and Contract Compliance Workbooks
  • Train, support onboarding of new staff
Warranty Management
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Review contract and develop Warranty Protocol for Post Construction to be followed by parties that is contract compliant
  • Coordinate Warranty Protocol Review sessions with Design Builder and relevant parties
  • Prepare and deliver Warranty Management Presentations to Shareholders (Design Builder, Customer, Project Co/Developer)
  • Compile all relevant Asset Warranty Schedule Data (as provided by Design Builder)
  • After construction is completed plan and chair regular Warranty Management meetings with Operations Teams and Design Builder
  • Prepare and track all active Warranty Service Events as they occur and communicate with parties if KPI deadlines are approaching to avoid risk.
  • Assist relevant parties with relief and extension requests to Customer
  • Review monthly PARs and maintain records of Warranty Related Deductions.
  • Prepare post-warranty review including number of warranty events, breakdown by asset types and areas, with summary outlining overall savings.
What We Look For

HIRING SALARY RANGE

$99,300 - $149,100 CAD (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
